We are looking for a Senior IP Ethernet Designer who apart from the tech knowledge also has very good soft skills. You are able to take the team by hand and coordinate with stakeholders and management in simple language.

Your role as Senior IP Ethernet Designer

You add value by maintaining and continuously innovating the networks together with your team. With passion, craftsmanship, and focus on results. As Senior IP Ethernet Designer you are, together with your team, responsible for the development of KPN's current network towards the future state-of-the-art network. You and your team are responsible for the products within the Fixed Core with a primary focus on keeping the networks in top condition.

We are looking for a passioned Senior IP Ethernet Designer who can work in a DevOps environment.

This is your team

The Fixed Core tribe is part of TDO Network. You will work for and with the complete Fixed Core tribe to design, manage, and support our core networks of the various KPN entities and we indirectly support our KPN end customers with their network needs. To ensure an optimized end-user experience for KPN services.

Together with +/- 70 Fixed Core colleagues, you will work some days at home and some days together at the office in Zoetermeer

Besides this, you have the following experience:
• Extensive experience in network engineering in the field of design, testing and operations (minimum CCNP).
• Extensive knowledge of networking in routing & switching, TCP/IP stack, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, DHCP, IPv6, and EVPN. preferably knowledge of Nokia and Huawei.
• Solid experience with Carrier grade network equipment and IP Networking in a telecom operator, & understanding of Service Provider Technologies
• Good understanding of automation with tools in a Test-automation pipeline like Ansible, Docker, Jenkins
• Good knowledge of network security methodologies.
• Experience with (traffic) engineering, configuration, and operation of MPLS and BGP re-routings.
• Professional English language skills, both in writing and speech;

What will you get from us

• A gross monthly salary of at least €4.920,- and up to €7.234,- depending on your work experience and based on 37 hours.
• Flextime up to 40 hours per week, for which you get up to 8.5% extra gross salary.
• A supplement of 10.5% of your gross monthly salary (including 8% vacation allowance).
• A variable bonus scheme of 9% in line with scale 12.
• Every year an individual and collective increase under our CAO [collective labor agreement].
• Good opportunities for growth and training and a personal training budget of €1.500; In fact, we expect you to continue developing!

• Excellent pension conditions: a total contribution of 23% of your pensionable salary of which KPN contributes 16% and you contribute 7%.
