As a Senior IP Designer at KPN, you will contribute to the innovation, stability, security and efficiency of our Mobile Core network. You will be responsible for designing and implementing innovations. By doing so, we enable the optimal network experience for our customers. This is also how we contribute to the digitalization of the Netherlands. In this position, you will work closely together with a team of experienced professionals in a result-oriented culture of open communication, knowledge sharing and mutual support.

Your role as Senior IP Designer

As Senior IP Designer, you will contribute to future innovations on our mobile core network Your expertise lies in designing and implementing IP designs. You work in a complex environment, but at the same time strive to keep everything as simple and standard as possible.

In this role, your responsibilities include:

• Creating IP designs on behalf of innovations on the mobile core network. For this, you work closely with other team members and coordinate with other stakeholders within KPN.
• Testing and implementing the IP designs you have created. This includes planning, executing and documenting the network changes.
• Maintain network security. This includes identifying potential security risks, implementing security protocols and responding to security incidents.

The Packet Switched Core domain, around 50 colleagues, look after the innovation and operations of KPN's mobile core. Our team consists of independent professionals with a high degree of collegiality: we trust each other and can rely on each other.

We are looking for someone with a curious, results-oriented and proactive mindset and who is willing to join the On-Call 24/7 team. You have good communication skills. You can formulate and present clearly so that the essence of the choices to be made becomes clear. You have sufficient seniority to be able to make decisions, even if not everyone agrees.

In addition, you have:

• A bachelor's or master's degree and more than 3 years' experience in telecommunications;
• Thorough knowledge of IP networks (IP at CCIE level);
• Preferably affinity and knowledge of 3GPP network functions and protocols);
• Experience with automation of processes and functions in the mobile network with tools such as Jenkins and Robot Framework;
• Knowledge of incident management, Life Cycle Management, capacity management and Business Continuity Management processes;
• Demonstrated awareness of and skills in network security.

• A gross monthly salary of at least €5.000,- and up to €6.500,- depending on your work experience and based on 37 hours.
• Flextime up to 40 hours per week, for which you get up to 8.5% extra gross salary.
• A supplement of 10.5% of your gross monthly salary (including 8% vacation allowance).
• A variable bonus scheme of 5% in line with scale 10.
• Every year an individual and collective increase under our CAO [collective labor agreement].

• Excellent pension conditions: a total contribution of 23% of your pensionable salary of which KPN contributes 16% and you contribute 7%.
