As a Project Manager Fixed Core, you will oversee projects aimed at the renewal/replacement of both our Metro (aggregation) and IP and Optical Transport networks. This will have an impact on the networks that form the basis for all transport services provided by KPN in the market, such as 112 or our 4.3 million broadband customers.

Your role as Project Manager Fixed Core

As a Project Manager Fixed Network, you are responsible for leading projects within the FabriQ program, focused on the renewal and replacement of our Metro, IP, and Optical Transport network. This involves guiding and steering various large-scale projects, where your network expertise is crucial to understand the complexity of the challenge and provide appropriate solutions. Your enthusiasm and communication skills are essential for motivating teams and clearly distributing responsibilities, creating a strong connection within the team.

Key tasks include:

• Formulating clear objectives and defining steps to achieve them.
• Regularly reporting to management and stakeholders on project progress.
• Identifying needs and setting up and managing multidisciplinary project organizations.
• Identifying project dependencies and determining a sequence of deliveries based on technical knowledge.
• Creating and updating a comprehensive project plan, providing progress reports to the Fixed Core manager and relevant steering committee(s).

This is your team

You will be working within the Structure & Planning team of the Fixed Core department. The Fixed Core department consists of 100 enthusiastic colleagues divided into 4 teams. As a project manager fixed core, you report, like the team leaders of these 4 teams, and a few colleague project managers report directly to the Fixed Core manager. Within Fixed Core, you closely collaborate with various specialists and teams contributing to your project. However, your role not only focuses on Fixed Core but often requires close alignment with other domains and stakeholders within the KPN organization. We meet each other 2 days a week at the office in Zoetermeer where we like to brainstorm, map dependencies, and align our priorities. Even when working from home, we communicate easily and are happy to assist each other.

This challenging role of Project Manager requires an initiative-driven, results-oriented personality with a strong sense of responsibility. You oversee the chain from which our network consists and understand the impact of choices on it. By creating consensus among the various departments and teams in this chain, encouraging collaboration, and effectively influencing, you achieve results that make an impact on digital Netherlands. To be successful in this role, you need at least:

• Bachelor level degree or working experience
• Substantive knowledge of at least the IP or OTN network and the associated specific services and peripherals
• Experience working as a project manager in service chains
• Extensive experience (and certification) in project management methods and techniques • Excellent communication and influencing skills in both Dutch and English towards colleagues, management & stakeholders

• A gross monthly salary of at least € 4920,- and up to € 7596,- depending on your work experience based on 37 hours
• You can choose to work up to 40 hours per week, allowing for a maximum of 8.5% gross salary increase
• A 10.5% allowance of your gross monthly salary (including 8% holiday pay)
• A variable bonus scheme of 9% associated with scale 12
